TPM Changelog

V3.3.8 TrafficPaymaster PRO – 12th May 2012

  • Robots.txt file updated to provide better TPM folder exclusion. Should be manually moved to your root directory on your web host.
  • Facebook feed section of manual updated for TPM Dashboard Section #3.
  • Various other minor TrafficPaymaster Driver’s Manual updates to reflect v3.3.4 TrafficPaymaster PRO updates.
  • Classic TPM Template updated to provide an example of Facebook FeedTag in use.

V3.3.4  TrafficPaymaster PRO – 22nd April 2012

  • Bug fix for Hostgator ‘Shared’ server install were articles weren’t always spinning correctly.

  • Faster Search Engine crawling and indexing of your TrafficPaymaster pages.  TPM now automatically creates sitemap.xml which is placed in the articles directory. This major feature enhancement allows Google to more easily crawl your TrafficPaymaster produced pages. Learn more about how Google uses Sitemaps here.   The sitemap.xml is automatically placed in your /article folder.

  • Captcha added for password retrieval. Some users have noted that a TrafficPaymaster install can create false password request emails.  A new CAPTCHA request on the TPM Dashboard password reminder page prevents these unnecessary emails with a simple number check.

V3.3.1   10th October 2011

NEW FEED: Facebook content may now be added to your templates.

Hyperlink removal checkbox within TrafficPaymaster PRO version fixed. Was previously failing to strip hyperlinks in articles under certain conditions.

<!–IMAGE_ROW_COUNT=3–> can be added to TPM Template to automatically set the number of images for the template to set (3 would add three images to the page).

V3.2.8 6th August 2011

  • Major upgrade: New feature allows more sophisticated TPM Templates with more than one image pulled into each page created. Note images work now as other FeedTags so the old single image Tag without <!–IMAGE1_ROW_BEGIN–> / is being phased out.  However, old legacy TPM Templates will continue to work with this version of TrafficPaymaster but without the facility to display multiple different images.

New format is:

<!--IMAGE1_ROW_BEGIN-->
<img title="%IMAGE_TITLE%" alt="%IMAGE_ALT%"
width="%IMAGE_WIDTH%" height="%IMAGE_HEIGHT%" src="%IMAGE_URL%">
<!--IMAGE1_ROW_END-->

And you'd then use <!--IMAGE2_ROW_BEGIN--><!--IMAGE2_ROW_END-->
for the next image you'd like to display.

Within the TPM Dashboard space is provided to define the size of the images. However these can also be controlled direct from the TPM Template.  If you use the Default TPM Template that comes with TPM you will see how this new feature works.

  • Major upgrade: Backup for articles. Where TrafficPaymaster cannot find an appropriate online article it can now search your own articles which you you can upload to your own /articles directory (on your webhost).

  • Added additional article feed – useful for those on HostGator servers who may have experienced articles not appearing.

    • Fix for occasional blocked images – particular for HostGator users.

  • TrafficPaymaster now shows the version number you have installed on the TPM Dashboard :-)

V3.0.5 Update 1st August 2011

Bug fix for some users who were seeing output created on the Create Pages screen

Minor TPM Dashboard display improvement on Strip Hyperlinks line.

New addition to Section #8 for PRO users now renamed:  8. Index Name, Meta Description

V3.0.2 Update 30th July 2011

Templates updated to better reflect v3 update which removes Create Pages bug

New TPM Dashboard option to create pages with the .aspx extension (in addition to .html and .php) to provide greater variety.

Meta name “description” option now available in TPM Dashboard to allow for spun meta description in this format:

<meta name="description" content="Are you looking for %KEYWORD%?|Are you interested in  %KEYWORD%|Are you searching %KEYWORD%">

Each page can therefore contain unique meta details – good for search engines? Maybe: read this.  However, we’ve decided to include this option within TrafficPaymaster because, if nothing else, it will help to vary the underlining create pages code.

V3.0.0 Update 23rd July 2011

Version 3.00 contains a major TPM Template upgrade as follows:

Up until now TPM Templates have been somewhat restricted because you can only use feeds (twitter, RSS News, etc) in one place in the template. E.g. You couldn’t include a twitter feed at the top of the page and then another at the bottom because they all have to be within a single <!–TWITTER_ROW_BEGIN–> <!–TWITTER_ROW_END–>  which can’t be repeated elsewhere in the Template.

This limitation is removed with V3 onwards.

You can now use FeedTags multiple times in a Template like this:
 <!--TWITTER1_ROW_BEGIN-->...<!--TWITTER1_ROW_END-->
 <!--TWITTER2_ROW_BEGIN-->...<!--TWITTER2_ROW_END-->
 <!--TWITTER3_ROW_BEGIN-->...<!--TWITTER3_ROW_END-->
The feature works for all FeedTags apart from articles which can only be used once on any TPM page.
Change  available  for all <!--XXX_ROW_BEGIN-->..<!--XXX_ROW_END--> except articles.

Please also note:

%URL% is now %SEARCH_URL%
%TITLE% is now %SEARCH_TITLE%
%DESCRIPTION% is now %SEARCH_DESCRIPTION%

for resultstemplate.html SEARCH ROW to match other FeedTags:

<!--SEARCH_ROW_BEGIN-->
<a href="%SEARCH_URL%">%SEARCH_TITLE%</a>
<br>%SEARCH_DESCRIPTION%<br>%SEARCH_URL2%<br>
<!--SEARCH_ROW_END-->

Other changes in v3.0.0

The %KEYWORD% tag can now be used in Section #5 Your Money(s) titles.
E.G. You can now use “Our Top Recommendation for %KEYWORD%” in that field in order to ensure that it updates the Keyword on each page that’s output.
This replace is only available where keyword is defined – i.e. on result pages and not on the SiteMap or Index pages.

Previously Section #2 TPM Template lists any folders it finds within the /tpm-templates directory.  However, TPM will now only look one level down and won’t attempt to list sub-folders like images within /tpm-templates/template-name/images
This upgrade means that you can safely now add an /images or /css folder within your template folder name, without having to worry about it appearing on the drop down box under Section #2.  Much neater.

Fix for ourwiz webhost problem which prevented TPM owners getting past a Create Pages popup window claiming that permissions weren’t set correctly, even when they were.

V2.8.6 Update 9th July 2011
TPM was adding 2 or more // before the output folder. Now fixed.

This is a large pre-launch update.

  • TPM now automatically checks for all required folder permissions for the /tpm folder on install, before allowing the user to set up an email and password.
  • User no longer required to manually edit password file in a text editor. Instead TPM takes care of this via the browser on install.
  • Username is now your email address.  Both the email and password are now entered twice to avoid user error.
  • Reminder for email and password added.
  • FeedTags renamed to make them more logical with beginning and end FeedTags. E.g. <!–NEWS_ROW_BEGIN–>and <!–NEWS_ROW_END–>
  • New feature allows the TPM Template to tell the TPM Dashboard how many of each pulled in item to expect, using these comments in the TPM Template:<!–NEWS_ROW_COUNT=4–>
    <!–SEARCH_ROW_COUNT=4–>
    <!–TWITTER_ROW_COUNT=4–>
    <!–YOUTUBE_ROW_COUNT=4–>The number at the end of each line sets the number in the TPM Dashboard.
  • Ajax used on Dashboard so that when a Template is selected from the drop-down list the Comment Rows above are automatically read in.
  • TPM Dashboard Sections re-ordered to bring the selection of RSS Newsfeed, Twitter & YouTube sections next to each other.
  • Use of a folder whose name defaults to /results removed.
  • Drop down sub-folder box deemed unnecessary and removed.
  • New check as to whether the Output Path and Output Directory are pointing to the same place, with warning message if not.
  • Check Results to open results in a New Window*
  • New Section #6 of Dashboard added with control of the quality of re-spun articles (PRO version) using Quality (1 = Good, 2 = Better, 3 = Best). Higher quality means less original.
  • Under Section #6 a new Protected Terms option allows you to provide a comma delimited list of words and phrases you don’t want replaced in your articles (PRO only).
  • New TPM Dashboard Section Negative Keyword or Competitor Filter allows user to enter a list of Keywords, Phrases or URLs that should never appear in the results. Allows you to keep the competition out of your pages. In the case of articles (PRO version only) TrafficPaymaster tries 5 times to get article without filtered keyword and if it fails to find something suitable it will use the unfiltered version.
